Commercial Retreading
Truck tyre retreading — the act of replacing a worn tyre tread with a new one — is a great choice for commercial vehicles. It enables fleets to keep running while reducing operating costs, and without compromising safety and roadworthiness. It’s also a better option for the environment, as it extends the life of the tyres, meaning they can be used for longer and will reduce your CO2 emissions.

Retreaded Tyres: What They Are & The Process
Retreading – also known as tyre remoulding – undergoes meticulous manufacturing to make sure the casing is robust enough to withstand a new tread. Casings that are intact and in good enough condition can be given a new lease of life with the use of a new tread, which can be beneficial to your vehicle and to the environment.
Tyre retreads are subject to strict regulations, and each retread must fully comply with this — and be rigorously tested to the highest standard — in order to be deemed safe for use.
The process of retreading involves several steps:
- Visually inspecting the tyre
- Shearography inspection
- Removal of the old tread fragments
- Repair of any damage that may have occurred to the tyre casing
- Adding the new tread to the tyre casing
- Curing the tyre
- A second visual and shearography inspection as well as a full inflation test to make sure the tyre is as good as new
Only when the tyre has passed our rigorous testing is it deemed suitable for use; we only use premium retread materials that we know deliver the best performance.
